Trish Charity
My husband took out the closet rods and built in shelving for me.
This is my 8 x 8 foot design wall. It is wonderful as I have 1" thick foam panels under the flannel so I can easily stick in pins and work on several things at once. It is opposite my sewing machine so I have a good view of anything I am working on.
All the cabinets were given to me when our friends remodeled their kitchen. The cabinet next to the sewing machine holds books and photo equipment. Things I do not access often. Next to the sewing machine is a small flannel board that I use for things I am sewing currently. As each step of the project is completed it moves to the large design area.
The counter cabinet has a granite top and a "sink" hole cut into it. My husband is going to build a light box for that area. This holds my rulers, paints and other bulky items that are too large for my other storage areas.
The deep cabinet holds my batting and the side cabinet holds my PDF bolts. The pie safe (minus the doors) was my grandmothers and is storage for magazines and art tablets (in the drawer) that need to be stored flat.
